I’ve been meal planning for as long as I’ve been feeding myself. Even before kids, I never understood how people grocery shopped without knowing what they were going to cook. The plan determined the cart, not the other way around.
But for years, my planning looked like this:
- new recipes every week
- trying to keep things interesting
- chasing variety
- forgetting what worked
- forgetting what didn’t
It was organized… but exhausting.
Then life got busier… Kids, activities, evenings that started to feel rushed and chaotic. I needed dinner to be predictable, not another daily decision.
So after my third child was born, I tried something different: a simple 2-week dinner rotation. Long enough that we don’t feel like we’re eating the same meals constantly, but short enough that I remember what worked 2 weeks ago. Familiar enough that my kids would accept it. Flexible enough to adjust for busy schedules and last minute plans.
And for the first time, meal planning stopped feeling like a task I had to manage. It just worked.
This site isn’t a recipe blog. It’s a real-life system for feeding a family without daily decision fatigue. This blog is my chronicle of what I’m feeding my family right now, tips and tricks that have helped me, and how to structure your life so “what’s for dinner?” doesn’t give you hives.
Here you’ll find:
• the current rotation we’re using
• prep notes that make weeknights easier
• tweaks and lessons from real dinners
• simple breakfasts and lunches that run on autopilot
Nothing fancy. Nothing fussy. Just structure that makes everyday life smoother. I hope you find it helpful!
